The Alannah & Madeline Foundation Support LoL Clubs

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation Team Up with the High School LoL Clubs Initiative

February 27th, 2018|

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation has been working for over 20 years to create better environments for children – including those found online. The prevalence of cyber bullying means it affects students on a day-to-day basis, but online harassment doesn’t have to be – nor should it be – the norm.

This is why we’re excited to be working with this incredible organisation to inform and educate students on the importance of traits such as respect, resilience and integrity. By providing the tools necessary to encourage healthy online interactions, together we aim to help students be prepared for, deal with and ultimately work to reduce the amount of harassment online.

“The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is passionate about creating safe online environments for young people. By bringing gaming to schools through clubs, we hope that teachers can set examples of fair play and guide discussions to create positive and healthy behaviour in students. As clubs progress, opportunities for students to become leaders and mentors can emerge, offering new and authentic learning experiences. A school club can also provide an opportunity for teens not interested in physical sports, to learn traditional team sport values in a way that is meaningful and fun.”
-Lesley Podesta, Chief Executive Officer

Thanks to the knowledge and guidance that the Alannah & Madeline Foundation have to offer, we’re able to produce better resources for high school League of Legends clubs, which align with the values of their eSmart Program to promote healthy online behaviour.
